Day-1  Montenegrin Pearls4

On the way to Cetinje, former capital of Montenegro, we will stop in a impressive place, from where you can see Skadar Lake; then we will taste the Montenegrin specialties in the restaurants nearby.

Walk in the city of Cetinje, where you will see the Monastery, the National Library  and the old embassies. Situated near Lovcen Mountain, Cetinje is a treasure of5

cultural and historical heritage of Montenegro. The architecture of 18th and 19th century is very particular; it comes from the rich greenery of this small town.Cetinje is the capital of Montenegro and Crnogorsko - primorska Mitropolija. During the regime of King Nicholas, there were built many embassies, which give today a unique view to the city. Two of the most significant buildings are the monasteries of Cetinje and Biljarda. Cetinje Monastery was built in 1701 and, although the Turks destroyed it several times, people built again. There are saved some relics of Saint Petar of Cetinje, such as illustrations of the Patrons of Montenegrin History. Cetinje Monastery reflects the political and religious roles of the Montenegrin people. Njegos built Biljarda for state purposes, a building (monastery), whose name is based on the billiard game. This poet, metropolitan, philosopher and extraordinary statesman liked to play this game. In Cetinje there are many museums, parks, there is also the Academy of Arts, and from Orlov  there is a great view of the city and the mountain of Lovcen.

Start with a panoramic walk along the slopes of Jezerski Mount in the National Park Lovcen. We will stop in a bar in Njegusi to make a break. Lovcen National Park is situated in the rocky region of Dinara Alps. Lovcen mountain slopes rise from the coastal region of Budva to the western part in Cetinje. The park is bordered on South with the highway Budva-Cetinje and on North with the old Kotor road. Montenegro (Black Mountain), after which the state of Montenegro took its name, is 1749 meter high.

Then we continue our travel going to the Bay of Kotor in a winding road, enjoying the impressive views of the bay of Kotor, which is one of the most beautiful bays in the world.6

Town of Kotor, a walk in the romantic old center of town. The old town of Kotor has preserved the urban center of the Medieval Era in Montenegro, typical for cities established in 12th and 14th century. UNESCO, of  "Countries with Cultural and Natural Heritage in the World".
