 Philosophy of traveling: This tour offers the opportunity of experiencing different aspects of the life of local residents and recognition of indigenous culture. The tour wants to create an intimate feeling between tourists and host families, based on the warm hospitality inherited generation to generation. The personages planned to visit on this tour, represent mostly the small family businesses, artisans. Visits will be made in their workshops, where they live. Participants of this tour will experience a sensation unlike other organized tours so far in Albania, because they shall have the opportunity for a certain time to touch and experience the traditional way of living of some residents.

Day after day the tour gives you a feeling of returning back in time, away from luxury and industrialized cities.

Certain nights the tour offers the opportunity to enjoy the traditional music of the area, such as Shkodra Jahre known for their rhythm and of other areas,combined with delicious dishes, the most popular specialties of the area. Despite the tour focuses on two aspects of Albanian folk culture, it also includes some natural and archeological attractions like Shkodra’s lake, Rozafa castle, Drisht castle and Mesi bridge.


Passing the afternoon on the beach of Velipoja gives the opportunity to enjoy a quiet afternoon between the melody of the waves and the sunset. The magic of the red sunset creates intimacy between the sea and the people where the breeze caress slightly.

On the first day of the tour, the tourists after a tirino journey, will arrive in the afternoon in Shkodra and the reception will be organized by accommodating you at “Colosseo” Hotel.

Highlights of the day:
Shkodra, whose locals are called “shkodranë”, the city of flowers, bicycles, Jahre, culture and humour, is located in northwestern Albania, founded around the V-IV century BC. The 2500 years old city, is one of the most prominent center of Albania and the Balkans, known as the traditional metropolis of Albanian culture. In Shkodra you can enjoy, not only the beautiful nature but also the history, culture, customs and way of life. Experiencing the grandeur of this city starts with a visit to one of the oldest neighborhoods of Shkodra, in Gjuadol (G'juadol). Houses and buildings are old and date back to the year 1857 onwards, with a Venetian style and with a very interesting architecture. At the end of it starts one of the most beautiful roads of Albania, the pedestrian road "Kol Idromeno", known for its Venetian style.
The afternoon begins with the journey to Shtoj i Ri, one of the villages of Shkodra, only 2.3 km (2 miles) from the town. Visit to a winery, a small family business, where everything is prepared by family members. Part of the visit will include  the conversations with family members, where they talk about the various aspects of life and the traditional lifestyle.

Highlights of the day:
The medieval town of Sarda today the castle of Shurdhahu is located in an island of Vau-Dejes lake approximately 16 km (10 miles) from the city of Vau-Dejës and 6 km (4 miles) from the village of Rragam which is 9 km (6 miles) from the city of Shkodra. This area belongs to a significant archaeological and historical territory. Here is the residence of early Gajtan (Gajtani Cave), Jubani residence (Jubani Cave), towns of Gajtani, Danja castle, Dalmaca castle, etc. Her name transformed later into Shurdhah has Illyrian origin as evidenced by the city of Sardis. The water of the lake, mountains and surrounding hills with their greenery, create a landscape of rare beauty, giving to this island great eco-tourism values. The lake with its clean water creates the opportunity for a unique trip and highly entertaining. Travelling in the lake may be initiated by the dam of the hydropower of Vau Dejës or Rragami dam. During the trip you can see Deja Castle and the Chapel of Deja Lady. Then you continue to see the village of Sheldija famous for its tobacco, and  there is also a church built on a hill.

Highlights of the day:
Shkodra Lake is the largest lake in the Balkan peninsula and counted as one of the oldest lakes in the world. Its water is at a height of 6 meters above sea level, and has an area of 368 km ², of which 149 km ² with a coast line of 57 km belonging to the Republic of Albania, while 2/3 of Montenegro, where in 1983 the lake declared a National Park. On the south shore you can see beaches on the road from Shkodra to Shirokë or Zogaj, where the largest is Zalli i Bardhë. The road to Shikokë is accompanied with wonderful views of the lake where its surface looks like a mirror that reflects infinity.
Shiroka is one of the neighborhoods of the city, in southwestern shore of  Shkodra Lake. It is a place with culture and tradition that has produced people who have made their name known in history and culture. Part of Shkodra tradition is the frequency of the beach in Shirokë where people go by bicycles.

  • Fifth day: Properties and rural life in Reç

Highlights of the day:
Reçi is a small village in the Commune of Shkrel where to take the road to Reç we start from the city of Shkodra to Koplik in the national road. Then from Koplik we turn towards the commune of Shkrel and Reçi village.
Cooperative "Reçi Prodhimtarë" is only 5 minutes away from Reçi Center, a family business where everything produced is biological and with high nutritional values. Nothing is made by chemicals and you can taste foods from the tree where you can see everything in their production.
The path that leads to the Cave of  Pigeons has scenic views of 180 degrees of fields. The climb is made through a rocky mountain filled with juniper bushes and other wild plants such as sage. This path will lead us almost to the top where the cave is, which not only will provide you with speleology experience but will give you the option of viewing the area with stunning views.

  • Sixth day: Village life in Trush and food products of the area

Highlights of the day:
The sixth day starts with the trip to Trushi village where rural life is very active. Meetings with farmers and graziers will give you another taste of travel, active and the simple rural life. Contemplating and walking in the countryside will familiarize you more with the inhabitants of the village where you can see very clearly their hospitality and kindness. Only 40 minutes from the city of Shkodra, at the right of the village of Dajç, where Drini river joins Buna river, is located the Church of Shirq. Its walls were built in the sixth century as a dedication to the two martyrs of the Byzantine church, Serçit and Baku, whose graves are located near the Euphrates River in Asia, near a castle called Rozafa. A side wall and a tall stone are all that is left from the church in which centuries ago were crowned Montenegrin and Albanians princes. Helena of Rasha, the Byzantine princess and daughter of the latin Emperor, Baldwin, was one of the most important figures associated with the Church of Shirq. It is here she has made her coronation.
Velipoja is located at the embouchure of Buna River where it flows into the Adriatic Sea while making also the boundary with Montenegro. Velipoja is known for the crystalline sea and the  curative sand, the lagoon with diverse species, forests with dense vegetation and the mountain with magnificent scenery.

Seventh day:  The End

      • Tourists return to their countries.
